Food and beverages are an indispensable part of the tourist supply as the food activity on the journey is manifested as a physiological need. But with years it can be seen that this part of the experience has become more and more important for the entire journey. Slavonia and Baranja as a relatively less developed tourist region of Croatia just in the development of gastronomic offer has great potential. Gastronomic culture is an important part of the general culture of Slavonian climate, and exceptional hospitality is one of the key features of Slavonian tradition and ancient customs. Slavonia, as the most less developed tourist region of continental Croatia, needs to use its tourist potentials, natural beauty, tradition and culture (for a long time, neglected ) to be marketed as a branded tourist destination that offers something new and recognizable to guests. Given that Slavonia has rural, gastronomic resources there is potential for the development of gastronomic tourism in this part of Croatia. The research in this paper has shown that Slavonia and Baranja have exceptional potential for the development of gastronomic tourism and contain all the necessary resources. However, it is necessary to continually work, track trends and improve the cooperation of all stakeholders in the field.
