The main objective of this paper is to examine the quality and quantity of supply and demand in the Republic of Croatia in the meat industry. The task is to detect the potential of niche and competition within the Zagreb market. By using secondary data generated from the surveys by competent institutions, the insight into the current market situation will be gained. Relevant literature is consulted for the needs of the work. This primarily refers to scientific articles on meat production, trends in the world and opportunities for growth at the local Zagreb market. Special emphasis will be placed on the possibility of producing organic meat products. Guided by the financial type of indicators, typical tools for industry evaluation in terms of its competitiveness as well as listening to the market situation for manufacturers and distributors, a conclusion was reached on the competitive position of the selected company and the existence of a long-term perspective of the planned activity. The conclusion is based on the secondary data derived from the scientific literature and from the results and indicators, the highlighted definitions and activities that need to be undertaken to achieve a full entrepreneurial harvest as soon as entering the attractive niche and the market. It is concluded that the possibilities and new trends of the meat industry, especially in the field of organic production, are great and that the entrepreneur pays for entry into a part of the Zagreb market based on the existing resources available to him.
