This master's thesis is a descriptive analysis of the structure, supervision and regulation of the hydro power plant Čakovec, which is the second power plant situated on the river Drava on the territory of Croatia. The hydro power plant Čakovec started its work in 1982 and became one of the larger electric energy producer. The main parts of the power plant Čakovec are: circumferential embankments, movable part of the dam, entering channel, machine room and exit channel or culvert. Volume of the circumferential embankments is 2006000 m3, the supply channel is 2 kilometers long and culvert channel is 6,5 kilometers long. The power plant has two Caplan turbines and its power is 77,44 MW. The possible average amount of electrical energy production is 350 GWh annually. Supervison of all three power plants on the river Drava is done by the center called „Komanda lanca Varaždin“, or shorter KL. KL provides quality supervison and management that results in the production increase. Supervison and management is done by system SCADA ( Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) and EMS (Energy Management System). When producing electrical stream, it is important to regulate amount of its frequency and voltage (power). Also, in every moment balance between produced electrical energy and its consumption has to exist. In other words, the overall sum of these power plants has to be somewhat bigger than the overall power of consumers because of the losses when the electric energy is transferred.
