The topic of this thesis is „Perception of Youth on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention“. To help young people maintain their health, it is important to educate them about healthy lifestyle habits and measures for disease prevention. Chronic non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and diabetes impose a significant burden on the healthcare system of the Republic of Croatia. Preventing these diseases is crucial to reducing the pressure on the healthcare system and healthcare professionals. Preventive health measures can enhance the quality of life for individuals. This paper addresses the psychological and social factors that influence consumer behavior regarding their health. The purpose of this study is to understand young people's perception of health promotion and disease prevention, as well as to motivate them to take responsibility for their own health. The research was conducted among 113 respondents who were between the ages of 15 to 35 at the time of completing the questionnaire. Based on the research, it can be concluded that young people have the highest trust in information from reliable sources such as health institutions, research centers and medical professionals. Some recommendations for practice include more intensive promotion of preventive health measures through digital media and the introduction of education on healthy lifestyle habits in educational institutions. There is room for further research into the barriers and obstacles that hinder the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits in the lives of young people.
