Nowadays, a large number of consumers rely on the reviews of other consumers, and on the basis of these recommendations, they judge whether a certain service suits them or not. The research problem of this final paper is online reviews and restaurants, and it refers to how society understands and interprets online reviews when choosing a restaurant. The main goal of this research is to understand how online reviews influence the decision-making process of consumers when it comes to choosing a restaurant in the Republic of Croatia and which key factors within online reviews (such as ratings, comments and photos) have the greatest impact on consumer decision-making. The primary purpose of the paper is to empower readers by increasing their awareness and understanding of the role and impact of online reviews in the decision-making process. Providing insight into how consumers can critically evaluate and effectively use online reviews. Research results obtained through a survey questionnaire reveal significant consumer reliance on online reviews, with positive reviews having a significant impact on their decision-making process. Namely, factors such as overall ratings, review content and reviewer credibility emerge as key considerations for consumers. It highlights the importance of online reviews in the restaurant industry and offers practical recommendations for restaurant owners and managers who want to make effective use of these platforms. A recommendation for future research is to use case studies of those restaurants that have received a significant number of online reviews to investigate how their business performance changes with changes in online reviews (before and after a large number of positive or negative reviews).
