Rural tourism in Croatia is becoming increasingly important and has significant potential for growth and development. In order to develop rural tourism and thereby reduce the gap between continental tourism and coastal tourism, significant investments in rural tourism and the creation of attractive contents and offers are needed. Advantage of rural tourism is that it can take place throughout the year, regardless of the season, and the natural potential it has, such as rivers, lakes, thermal baths, traditional gastronomy, sights, etc. It is necessary to encourage the development of rural tourist destinations so that they become something more than ordinary weekend destinations. In favor of the development of rural tourism is the fact that tourists are increasingly looking for this form of tourism and are interested in staying in a peaceful environment. In accordance with this, the idea of opening a holiday home was created, which would be located in the town of Ozalj, near the river Kupa, surrounded by nature. The holiday house would provide guests with quality accommodation and the possibility of various sports and recreational activities. In order to determine the profitability of such a venture, certain analyzes were carried out that indicated that starting this kind of venture would be profitable and achieve positive financial results.
