As communication is one of the most important ways of human expression and ways of sending messages, using strategic communication and making an effective communication plan is an important tool used by many companies, organizations and individuals working in any field – the same case is in the music industry. In this master thesis, a suggestion for a communication plan was made for singer/songwriter J.R. August. The suggestion of this communication plan is mostly focused on event management as one of the communication tools, as well as on digital communication and media relations. Other communication strategies and tools were also used. The choice of appropriate communication strategies and tools in this master thesis is based on primary research – an in-depth interview with the singer/songwriter J.R. August, as well as content analysis of data collected from social media and media content. Choosing communication strategies and tools was made easier by analysing the social media of two other musicians from the region, Sara Renar and the band “Buč Kesidi”, as well as analysing the media content about them.
