Hearing impairment is a condition that makes it difficult for people with this diagnosis to communicate with the environment. In the case of a child with hearing impairment, it is important to diagnose the hearing condition as soon as possible in order to achieve successful rehabilitation of hearing and speech development with the use of hearing aids. Hearing impairment is different in each person affected by this condition in terms of different levels of impairment at different frequencies of the auditory area. Due to the above, there is a need for different frequency ranges to be amplified according to the level of damage in that part of the auditory spectrum. Less damage should be compensated by weaker reinforcement and vice versa. In order to achieve the optimal level of hearing aid amplification and speech intelligibility, it is necessary to adjust the hearing aid appropriately. This is achieved by aligning the hearing impairment curve with the targeted gain curve. It is very important that the hearing aid used is technically correct. Therefore, measuring equipment has been developed to test the correctness of the hearing aid. The standard IEC 60118-7: 2008 (HRN EN 60118-7: 2008) has been established, which determines the conditions and parameters for measuring the characteristics of hearing aids. Measuring equipment can be used to test the correctness of aids but also important for precise sound settings on the user's ear. Especially useful in pediatric settings when a baby or child cannot give us reliable feedback on volume and other sound features. Following technological developments and trends in the field of audiology, it is recommended to use the above equipment and implement the standard to ensure the quality of service.
