The topic of this thesis is "The Position of Women in Management: Barriers and Opportunities". Management, as one of the most important components of an organization, requires employees and managers whose experience and skills can contribute to achieving the company's goals. Differences in leadership styles are evident between men and women, each having their own distinct approach to leading their teams and people. Women are in a less favorable position compared to men, as they encounter numerous barriers in their daily work that hinder their advancement to higher levels. The "glass ceiling" phenomenon, consisting of invisible barriers, is a significant factor preventing women from progressing further. This paper examines management, the categorization of managers, and the skills required to achieve organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions of employees in various positions, understand their opinions about women in managerial roles, and identify the barriers and opportunities they face. The research was conducted among 62 participants aged between 18 and over 55 at the time of the survey. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that, in the Republic of Croatia, the situation has improved compared to the past, but women still encounter various obstacles. Recommendations for practice include breaking stereotypes through employee education, implementing more flexible working conditions to help women balance private and professional lives, and fostering networking opportunities to enable women to exchange experiences and recommendations.
