Abstract
Smanjenje kupovne moći građana uzrokovalo je da se knjige manje kupuju tako da je djelatnost izdavanja knjiga došla u poteškoće i počela ostvarivati lošije poslovne rezultate. U današnje vrijeme u tehničkom smislu puno je jednostavnije oblikovati i objaviti knjigu. Možda su upravo zbog toga utjecaj i moć knjige postali manje važni. U svijetu je došlo do pada prodaje fizičkih knjiga, ali znatno raste prodaja elektroničkih. Ukupni pad prodaje u svijetu iznosi tek deset posto u posljednjih nekoliko godina, dok je u Hrvatskoj više od četrdeset posto. Naklade knjiga su pale na razinu 19. stoljeća, pa je sada normalno da se prva naklada tiska u samo nešto više od šesto primjeraka. Kada se govori o krizi kulture u Hrvatskoj, misli se na krizu koja se očituje u krizi knjiga i izdavačkim kućama. Nakladnici osjećaju tu krizu, ali unatoč njoj ne mijenjaju svoje nakladničke programe i ustraju u onome po čemu su poznati. Cilj rada je korištenjem financijske analize ocijeniti uspješnost poslovanja, odnosno neuspješnost poslovanja putem sintetičkih i statičkih financijskih pokazatelja odabranih poduzeća iz izdavačke djelatnosti. Poduzeća koja čine uzorak su iz izdavačke djelatnosti i ostvarila su najveći prihod u 2014. godini: Školska knjiga d.d., Profil International d.o.o., Alfa d.d. i Mozaik knjiga d.o.o.
Abstract (english)
Publishing crisis has become reality; the decline in citizens’ purchasing power caused them to buy books less and spend less on culture in general. Compared to the other economic sectors, this drop is too large. Ironically, books have never been easier to design or to publish. Sales of the physical books have decreased around the world, but there is a substantial increase in the electronic sales. While the global decline is only ten percent in the last few years, in Croatia it is over forty percent. Editions have decreased to the level of the 19th century, so now it's normal to have the first edition published in just over six hundred copies. When we talk about the culture crisis in Croatia, we think of a crisis that is reflected in book publishing and selling. Even though publishers can feel this crisis, they still do not want to change their editorial programs, but persist in what they are known for. The aim of the paper is to evaluate, through financial analysis, the success or the failure of the business by using synthetic and static financial indicators on selected publishing companies. The publishing companies that make up the sample are the ones that have earned the highest revenue in 2014: Školska knjiga d.d., Profil International d.o.o., Alfa d.d. and Mozaik knjiga d.o.o.
