The topic of this specialist master’s thesis is the proposal of a new local event and communication plan. In the city of Pula, the vast majority of events take place mainly during the summer months when there is a high number of tourists, and much less during the winter, which can significantly affect the quality of life of its citizens. In view of this shortcoming, the paper presented a proposal for a new event with the aim of enriching the content and enhancing the attractiveness of the observed destination outside of the summer season. This paper examined primary and secondary data sources. The secondary ones included the relevant domestic and foreign literature, while the primary ones entailed the data obtained by a survey in the shape of a questionnaire. The paper analyzed the existing event "Advent in Pula" and, based on the conducted research on the attitudes of visitors and citizens, a proposal was devised to expand the Advent’s content to a new location in the city center - Tito's Park. The new Advent event would be based on components of musical, gastronomic and entertainment content, mainly intended for an adult audience. In order for the new event to be as successful as possible, communication activities were designed to engage with the audience.
